fitshare ("we", "us", "our") is a peer-to-peer clothing sharing and lending platform available at fitshare.co.uk. fitshare allows friends to discover, borrow, and lend items from each other's wardrobes.
Information we collect
We collect the following information when you use fitshare:
- Account information — your name, email address, and username when you register
- Profile information — your display name, profile photo, and avatar preferences
- Wardrobe content — photos, descriptions, and details of items you list
- Social connections — who you follow and who follows you on the platform
- Borrow requests — messages, dates, and status of borrowing activity between users
- Usage data — how you interact with the app, including screens visited and actions taken
If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google in accordance with Google's OAuth policies.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide and operate the fitshare platform
- Enable borrowing and lending between friends
- Send you notifications about borrow requests and friend activity
- Improve the app based on how it is used
- Respond to support requests
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising.
How we store your information
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider with servers in the EU. Your data is protected using industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.
Profile photos and item images you upload are stored in your account and are visible only to your friends on the platform.
Who can see your information
fitshare is a friends-only platform. Your wardrobe and activity is only visible to people you have accepted as friends. Users who are not your friends cannot see your items, collections, or borrowing activity.
Your username and profile name may be visible to other fitshare users when they search for you to add as a friend.
Third-party services
fitshare uses the following third-party services:
- Supabase — database and authentication (privacy policy)
- Google OAuth — optional sign-in with Google (privacy policy)
- Stripe — payment processing for fitshare Plus, if applicable (privacy policy)
- Vercel — web hosting (privacy policy)
Cookies and local storage
fitshare uses browser local storage to keep you logged in between sessions and to store your preferences locally. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law (UK GDPR), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Object to or restrict how we process your data
- Data portability — receive a copy of your data

Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal reasons.
Children's privacy
fitshare is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app. Continued use of fitshare after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
